CITY OF SA RAFAEL
PRESENTS THIS
RESOLUTION DF RPPRECIRTION
TO
Sukhjinder Banwait
Employee of the Second Quarter of 2007
WHEREAS, Sukhjinder Banwait has worked for the City of San Rafael since April 2005 in the
capacities of Parking Attendant and then Parking Equipment Technician; and
WHEREAS, Sukhjinder has, throughout his employment with the City, demonstrated a patient,
friendly, respectful, helpful demeanor when dealing with the public, even on occasions
when he is approached by a person that may be somewhat less than patient and not
particularly friendly and decidedly not respectful; and
WHEREAS, Sukhjinder has, on many occasions, volunteered ideas and suggestions to improve the
quality of parking customer services including changes in signing, processes, and
procedures. Many of Jinder's ideas have brought humor to the otherwise dry area of
parking management, but others have actually been adopted by the Parking Services
Division and turned out to be better ways of doing business; and
WHEREAS, Sukhjinder has contributed to the quality of City parking services in ways that will persist
within the organization by volunteering to participate in recruitment efforts and offering
information and training to new employees; and
WHEREAS, Sukhjinder is consistently helpful and collaborative with other parking staff members and
extends himself to be part of helping the Parking Services Operations work group to
operate smoothly as a more effective and productive team; and
WHEREAS, Sukhjinder represents the City with commitment, integrity, and a can -do attitude that
serves as a positive role model for other City staff members to emulate.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Council of the City of San Rafael
hereby designate Sukhjinder Banwait as "Employee of the Quarter" for the second quarter of 2007 and
express sincere appreciation for his dedication, professionalism, and outstanding service to the City of San
Rafael.
