A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN
RAFAEL AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC WORKS
TO EXTEND THE CONTRACT WITH WEST COAST ARBORISTS
FOR ROUTINE AND EMERGENCY TREE SERVICE FOR AN
ADDITIONAL PERIOD OF TWO YEARS COMMENCING
AUGUST 2, 2008
BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of San Rafael as follows:
WHEREAS, the City of San Rafael (City) and West Coast Arborists, Inc.
(Contractor) entered into an Agreement dated August 2, 2005 by which the Contractor
agreed to provide the City with certain routine and emergency tree services; and,
WHEREAS, the original Contract Documents allow the parties, upon mutual
consent, to extend the contract agreement not more than two additional two year periods;
and
WHEREAS, the contract has already been extended for one additional two year
period from August 2, 2006 to August 1, 2008; and
WHEREAS, the City has determined that routine and emergency tree services
continue to be required; and
WHEREAS, the Contractor has offered to continue such services in connection
with this contract and the City is very satisfied with the Contractor's past performance and
desires to extend this contractual relationship,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of San Rafael
that the Director of Public Works is hereby authorized to extend the existing contract, in a
form approved by the City Attorney, with West Coast Arborists, Inc. for an additional and
final two years commencing on August 2, 2008 and ending on August 1, 2010, with all
other covenants, terms and conditions of the original contract agreement remaining in full
force and effect for the term of the extended contract agreement.
I, ESTHER C. BEIRNE, Clerk of the City of San Rafael, hereby certify that the
foregoing resolution was duly and regularly introduced and adopted at a regular meeting of the
Council of said City on the 19`h day of May, 2008, by the following vote, to wit:

NOES: COUNCILMEMBERS: None
