SAN RAFAEL REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY
1. INTERVIEWS OF APPLICANTS TO FILL VACANCIES ON:
REDEVELOPMENT CITIZENS ADVISORY COMMITTEE (4 VACANCIES) (AS) - File
R-140 IVb
On June 5, 1989, Agency approved calling for applications to fill
four 4 -year terms on the Redevelopment Citizens Advisory Committee
due to expiration of those terms as of the end of June, 1989. Seven
applications were received by deadline of 12:00 Noon, Tuesday, June
27, 1989, including those of three incumbents, Joyce Burkett, Donald
Dickenson and Anise M. Turina.
Members were informed by Agency Secretary Leoncini that one of the
applicants, Joyce Burkett, had withdrawn her name today for business
reasons. They were also informed that applicant Christopher Carpiniello
was not a City resident. Also, applicant Jon Baker did not appear
for his interview.
Agency Members then interviewed the following applicants; Donald
Dickenson, Anise M. Turina, Deborah Paolino and Rudolf Rentzel.
Member Breiner moved and Member Thayer seconded, to appoint the four
applicants interviewed.
Under discussion, Chairman Mulyran indicated he would prefer readver-
tising in light of the fact that three of the applicants were unable
to be interviewed out of the seven who had originally applied.
Motion was withdrawn.
Member Frugoli then moved and Member Boro seconded, to readvertise
for an additional twenty-one days, with new applicants only to be
interviewed at a special meeting on August 7, 1989, at which time
Agency will consider appointments from all those who have applied.

2. INTERVIEWS OF APPLICANTS TO FILL VACANCIES ON: (CC)
a. PLANNING COMMISSION (2 VACANCIES) - File 9-2-6
City Council interviewed the following six applicants, including two
incumbents, to fill two 4 -year terms on the Planning Commission; terms
to expire the end of June, 1993:
Deborah Paolino Richard P. O'Brien (Incumbent)
Rudolph Rentzel John A. Starkweather
Raymond Frost Peter F. Walz (Incumbent)
After discussion, Councilmember Breiner moved and Councilmember Thayer
seconded, to reappoint Richard P. O'Brien and appoint John A. Starkweather
to the Planning Commission for 4 -year terms to expire the end of June,
1993.

b. DESIGN REVIEW BOARD (LICENSED ARCHITECT AND LICENSED LANDSCAPE
ARCHITECT) (2 VACANCIES) - File 9-2-39
City Council interviewed the following four applicants, including
two incumbents, to fill two 4 -year terms on the Design Review Board,
one licensed Architect and one landscape Architect, terms to expire
as of the end of June, 1993:
Phillip Abey, Landscape Architect (Incumbent)
Clarence Mamuyac, Architect
Digne B. deLenea, Architect (Incumbent)
Richard Olmsted, Architect
After discussion, Councilmember Boro moved and Councilmember Frugoli
seconded, to reappoint Phillip Abey, Landscape Architect and appoint
Richard Olmsted, Architect to fill two 4 -year terms on the Design
Review Board; terms to expire the end of June, 1993.

ABSENT: COUNCILMEMBERS: None
City Council requested City Clerk Leoncini to keep Clarence Mamuyac's
name on file to be contacted for interview should another vacancy
occur on the Design Review Board.
There being no further business, meeting was adjourned at 7:20 PM.
