CITY OF SAN RAFAEL
PRESENTS THIS
RESOLUTION OF APPRECIATION
TO
SHARON BUNKER
WHEREAS, Sharon Bunker has been a member of the San Rafael Police Department
from August 1973 to April 1977 and then again from August 1984 to December 1999 serving
as a Parking Enforcement Officer and as a Police Communications Dispatcher; and
WHEREAS, Sharon made significant contributions to the San Rafael Police Department
in her assignment as a Police Communications Dispatcher; and
WHEREAS, Sharon contributed greatly to the success of the SRPD Citizen Police
Academy as one of the charter instructors on the topic of dispatching, efforts evidenced by the
many letters from appreciative academy citizen students; and
WHEREAS, Sharon's professionalism and high level of performance has been amply
documented by letters of appreciation from officers and dispatchers acknowledging her hard
work and ability for thinking ahead and determining what needed to be done before someone
had the chance to ask; and
WHEREAS, all those who met Sharon in connection with her law enforcement duties
were greeted with enthusiasm, treated professionally and impressed by her dedication; and
WHEREAS Sharon was honorably retired from the San Rafael Police Department in
December 1999 following 20 years of dedicated service to our community.
- NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and Council of the City of San Rafael
hereby express their sincerest appreciation to Police Communications Dispatcher Sharon
Bunker for her years of dedicated service and on behalf of all the citizens of our community
wish her well in the future.
