PRESENTS THIS
RESOLUTION OF APPRECIATION

WHEREAS, Gregory `Greg' Cella has been a member of the San Rafael Police
Department from 1984 to 2001 serving as a uniformed officer, and
WHEREAS, Greg worked tirelessly in service to the community, displaying uncommon
professionalism and dedication to the City of San Rafael in every task assigned him; and
WHEREAS, all those who met Greg in connection with his law enforcement duties were
greeted with enthusiasm, treated with respect and impressed by his dedication; and
WHEREAS, Greg served as a dedicated, enthusiastic, and creative Patrol Officer,
Department Training Manager and as a Traffic Enforcement Officer as evidenced by his receipt
of eighteen Chiefs commendations and seventy letters of recognition from citizens and other
law enforcement agencies for his professionalism, dedicated and caring service; and
WHEREAS, Greg was recognized as a 1998 City of San Rafael Employee of the Quarter
for his work in creating the Major Accident Investigation Team, as well as service as an
excellent motorcycle training officer and a member of the Air Surveillance Team; and
WHEREAS, Greg was honorably retired from the San Rafael Police Department in
February 2001 following 17 years of dedicated service to our community.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and Council of the City of San Rafael
hereby express their sincerest appreciation to Officer Gregory 'Greg' Cella for his years of
dedicated service and on behalf of all the citizens of our community wish him well in the
future.
