HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC Resolution 10977 (Community Oriented Policing Grants)RESOLUTION NO. 10977 RESOLUTION OF THE SAN RAFAEL CITY COUNCIL APPROVING USE OF STATE COPS PROGRAM SUPPLEMENTAL SERVICES FUNDS IN THE AMOUNT OF $113,799 FOR COMMUNITY ORIENTED POLICING Whereas, the Governor of the State of California signed the Budget Act of 2001 which continued the Supplemental Law Enforcement Services Fund and allocated $113,799 to the City of San Rafael for Fiscal Year 01-02; and, Whereas, the Legislature mandated this money be spent for front line law enforcement purposes: and, Whereas, the City Council has set a priority of implementing Community Oriented Public Safety; and, Whereas, the City Council has previously approved the use of SLESF money for police overtime for Community Oriented Policing during the 2000/2001 city budget hearings; and, Whereas, the Marin County's Supplemental Law Enforcement Oversight Committee requires a spending plan for final approval of fund use; NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council approves the use of $113,799 in Supplemental Law Enforcement Services funds for police overtime for Community Oriented Policing. I, Jeanne M.
