RESOLUTION OF THE SAN RAFAEL CITY COUNCIL APPROVING USE OF
FEDERAL LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT BLOCK GRANT FUNDS IN THE
AMOUNT OF $73,854.00 FOR COMMUNITY POLICING
Whereas, the United States Department of Justice, Bureau of Justice
Assistance granted the City of San Rafael $73,854 in block grant
funds; and,
Whereas, this block grant money may be spent to pay costs associated with
Community Policing and Crime Prevention; and,
Whereas, the City of San Rafael will supplement the award with a match of
$8,206 from the COPS, Patrol and Youth Services programs; and,
Whereas, the police officers will work overtime to decrease community crime
and improving quality of life issues; and,
Whereas, the City Council must approve use of the grant funds to begin the
process of grant approval;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council approves the use
of $73,854 plus the Match amount of $8,206 in Local Law Enforcement Block
Grant funds to pay for overtime.
I, Jeanne M. Leoncini, Clerk of the City of San Rafael, hereby certify that the
foregoing resolution was duly and regularly introduced and adopted
at a regular meeting of the San Rafael City Council meeting held on the 3rd
day of December, 2001 by the following vote, to wit:
