RESOLUTION OF THE SAN RAFAEL CITY COUNCIL WAIVING PAYMENT
OF FEES FOR THE USE PERMIT APPLICATION (UP01-05) FOR MARIN GENERAL
THRIFT SHOP TO RELOCATE ITS USE TO 1011 C STREET; APN 011-205-16
WHEREAS, on February 5, 2001 Mary Carpou of Marin General Thrift Shop submitted a use
permit application to relocate the Marin General Thrift Shop from its location on Fourth Street to
1011 C Street; and
WHEREAS, on February 5, 2001 Mary Carpou, on behalf of Marin General Thrift Shop,
submitted a letter requesting a fee waiver in the amount of $730.00 for a use permit; and
WHEREAS, on February 21, 2001, Marin General received approval from the Zoning
Administrator for the use permit.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of San Rafael that the
requirement for payment of Planning Division application fees for the use permit is hereby
waived, finding that the proposed waiver is consistent with the requirements of Resolution 10789
establishing policies for consideration of fee waivers in that:
• The Marin General Thrift Shop is a non-profit organization providing services of benefit to
the general public of San Rafael including donation of clothing and household goods for the
underprivileged to M.A.R.C., Ritter House and to patrons utilizing the Hospital's psychiatric
and maternity wards and utilizing store profits for Hospital improvements which benefit the
general population of Marin, including San Rafael residents; and
• The refund of $730 will not have a significant impact on General Fund revenues.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that any application fees which have been paid to date for this
permit shall be refunded to the applicant.
I, JEANNE M. LEONCINI, Clerk of the City of San Rafael, hereby certify that the foregoing
resolution was duly and regularly introduced and adopted at a regular meeting of the Council of
said City on Monday, the sixteenth day of April, 2001, by the following vote, to wit:
