RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN RAFAEL AUTHORIZING
APPROPRIATION AND TRANSFER OF FUNDS IN THE AMOUNT $90,000.00 FROM THE
CITY TO THE REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF ALBERT
PARK LANE IMPROVEMENTS, FROM AB 2928 FT -ND.
WHEREAS, Albert Park Lane Improvements and Parkside Childcare Center
Landscaping projects were combined into a single project for construction expediency and cost
saving through the San Rafael Redevelopment Agency; and
WHEREAS, the project was advertised on March 9, 2001, and the bids were
opened on March 27, 2001; and
WHEREAS, on April 2, 2001, the Agency, under staff recommendation, rejected
all the bids, owing to excessive cost for construction of the landscape portion of the project; and
WHEREAS, on April 2, 2001, under City Council's Resolution # 10802, an
amount of $300,000.00 was transferred from the Albert Park Lane Improvements Fund to the San
Rafael Redevelopment Agency for the construction of Albert Park Lane; and
WHEREAS, the project was re -bid on April 13, 2001, as directed by the Agency,
the bid opening on Tuesday, May 1, 2001, reviewed that the bid from Ghilotti Bros., Inc. in the
amount of $566,519.50 was the apparent low bid; and
WHEREAS, staff will recommend that San Rafael Redevelopment Agency
accept the low bid from Ghilotti Bros., Inc. in the amount of $566,519.50; and
WHEREAS, the jointly funded project will be administered by the
Redevelopment Agency, and, in order to pay the Albert Park Lane portion of the project, it is
necessary to transfer additional funds from the appropriate City accounts to the Redevelopment
Agency.
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY ORDERED AND RESOLVED by the
City Council of the said City of San Rafael, that funds be appropriated in the amount of
$90,000.00 and transferred from the City to the Redevelopment Agency for the construction of
Albert Park Lane Improvements, from the AB 2928 fund.
I, JEANNE M. LEONCINI, Clerk of the City of San Rafael, hereby certify that
the foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly introduced and adopted at a regular meeting of
the Council of said City on Monday, the 70' day of May, 2001, by the following vote, to wit:
