RESOLUTION OF THE SAN RAFAEL CITY COUNCIL WAIVING PAYMENT
OF FEES FOR THE GENERAL PLAN AMENDMENT AND ZONE CHANGE
APPLICATIONS FOR THE MARIN HISTORY MUSEUM AT BOYD PARK
WHEREAS, the Marin History Museum has submitted applications for a General Plan
amendment, zone change and Negative Declaration to complete the land use entitlements for a
county history museum in the southeastern corner of Boyd Park; and
WHEREAS, on March 28 and April 29, 2001, Richard Murray and Merry Alberigi, on behalf of
the Marin History Museum, submitted letters requesting a fee waiver for the planning
applications; and
WHEREAS, in 1995 the City processed a design review application and prepared a Negative
Declaration without charging application fees,
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of San Rafael that the
requirement for payment of Planning Division application fees for the General Plan amendment
and zoning change is hereby waived, finding that the proposed waiver is consistent with the
requirements of Resolution 10789 establishing policies for consideration of fee waivers in that:
• The Marin History Museum is a non-profit organization, and
The creation of the Marin History Museum will provide services of benefit to the general
public of San Rafael including the creation of a more active downtown environment, creation
of a venue for school educational programs and provision of free admission days for county
residents; and
• The waiver of an estimated $1,800-2,400 will not have a significant impact on General Fund

I, JEANNE M. LEONCINI, Clerk of the City of San Rafael, hereby certify that the foregoing
resolution was duly and regularly introduced and adopted at a regular meeting of the Council of
said City on Monday, the seventh day of May, 2001, by the following vote, to wit:
AYES: COUNCILMEMBERS: Cohen, Miller, Phillips and Mayor Boro
NOES: COUNCILMEMBERS: None
