CITY OF SAN RAFAEL
PRESENTS THIS
RESOLUTION OF APPRECIATION
TO
Phyllis Thelen
WHEREAS, Phyllis Thelen has served on the Cultural Affairs
Commission from May 3, 1993 until the end of April 2001, giving
generously of her time to work for the cultural life of her
community and to encourage, improve and develop the arts in
San Rafael; and
WHEREAS, Phyllis served four terms as Chair of the Cultural
Affairs Commission; and
WHEREAS, during Phyllis's tenure on the Cultural Affairs
Commission she served as a member of the Steering Committee
for the Falkirk Strategic Planning process to develop a vision for
Falkirk's future, and
WHEREAS, Phyllis's involvement in the Historic Plaques Project,
Windows on Fourth Street, and numerous other projects led to
their success; and
WHEREAS, Phyllis established the Downtown Art Center and
now serves on the Steering Committee for the San Rafael General
Plan.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City of
San Rafael hereby commends Phyllis Thelen for her devoted
service to the community as a Cultural Affairs Commissioner.
