RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN RAFAEL
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE
AN AGREEMENT ADMITTING LARKSPUR PUBLIC LIBRARY
TO MEMBERSHIP IN MARINet AS A SIGNATORY
TO THE MARINet JOINT POWERS AGREEMENT
WHEREAS, the City of San Rafael is party to the Joint Exercise of Powers Agreement
for ownership, operation, and governance of the online system and library consortium known as
MARINet; and
WHEREAS, the City of Larkspur has adopted a resolution of intent to join MARINet as a
signatory to the MARINet Joint Powers Agreement; and
WHEREAS, the Governing Board of MARINet has voted unanimously to admit
Larkspur as a member of MARINet and a signatory to the MARINet Joint Powers Agreement;
and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of San Rafael believes that the Larkspur
Library's full participation as a member of the MARINet consortium will benefit the citizens of
San Rafael and all users of public libraries in Marin.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that City Council of the City of San Rafael
hereby authorizes the Mayor and City Clerk to execute an agreement admitting Larkspur Public
Library to membership in MARINet as a signatory to the NLMUNet Joint Powers Agreement.
I, JEANNE M. LEONCIN7, City Clerk of the City of San Rafael hereby certify that the
foregoing resolution was duly and regularly introduced and adopted at a Regular meeting of the
City Council of said City held on Monday the Fourth day of June 2001 by the following vote to
wit

THE CITY OF SAUSALITO,
THE TOWN OF SAN ANSELMO,
AND THE BELEVEDERE-TIBURON LIBRARY AGENCY
This agreement is made and entered in to this _Q� day of -5 2001
in Marin County California, by and between the COUNTY OF M , and the CITY
OF MILL VALLEY, the CITY OF SAN RAFAEL, the CITY OF SAUSALITO, the
TOWN OF SAN ANSELMO, and the BELEVEDERE-TIBURON COMMUNITY
LIBRARY .
WITNESSETH
The Governing Board of MARINet met on April 27, 2001 and voted unanimously that
Larkspur Public Library become a member of the MARINet and a signatory to the JOINT
POWERS AGREEMENT of July 8, 1997 upon the payment of $44,945, plus annual
operating costs thereafter.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the parties hereto have caused their duly authorized
representatives to execute this agreement the day and year first above written.
