CITY OF SAN RAFAEL
PRESENTS THIS
RESOLUTION OF APPRECIATION
TO
SHEILA DELIMONT
WHEREAS, Sheila Delimont, after nine and a half years as Principal Planner and Planning
Manager for the City of San Rafael, is leaving to pursue more right -brain and less contentious facets
of life; and
WHEREAS, Sheila has provided sage guidance in areas of community planning to the City since
1990, and is responsible for many successes of the City during the past decade and in setting the
stage for the City's future into the 21" century; and
WHEREAS, Sheila has devoted much of her life to evening meetings, including over 500 City
Council, Planning Commission and Design Review Board meetings and countless neighborhood,
advisory committee, task force and regional planning meetings; and
WHEREAS, Sheila has twice served as Acting Community Development Director in between Bobs
and facilitated the successful marriage of the Planning, Building & Safety and Code Enforcement
divisions; and
WHEREAS, Sheila's list of achievements include the national award-winning Hillside Design
Guidelines, the North San Rafael Vision and Vision In Action Committee, the Planning Department
Procedures Manual, two rounds of St. Vincent's/Silveira land use studies, the Dominican College
Master Plan and EIR, the Shoreline Center Specific Plan, Home Depot, Kaiser Clinic, 1 H Street,
Lone Palm Apartments, Shamrock Center, Maria B. Freitas House, Loch Lomond Subdivision,
Sonnen BMW, the Oacis Office Building, Smith Ranch Homes, Academy Heights, Deer Valley
Apartments, Vista Marin and more use permits and ED permits than anyone cares to recall; and
WHEREAS, Sheila has left a legacy of thoroughness, professionalism and ethical decision-making
unlikely to be surpassed;
THEREFORE, LET IT BE RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of San Rafael hereby
extends its appreciation to Sheila Delimont for over nine years of outstanding service to the San
Rafael community.
Adopted by the City Council on January 18, 2000.
