A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SAN RAFAEL AUTHORIZING THE FIRE
DEPARTMENT TO PURCHASE EXTRICATION TOOLS
FROM SOLE SOURCE VENDOR L.N. CURTIS & SONS
(IN AMOUNT OF $37,015.00)
WHEREAS, the current set of HURST extrication tools, purchased by the
Department in 1980, is in need of replacement; and
WHEREAS, L.N.Curtis & Sons is the only company that makes such extrication
tools and, therefore, L.N.Curtis & Sons is the sole source of such tools; and
WHEREAS, increased traffic congestion now requires the Department to have
two sets of extrication tools, one in the North side of the City and the other in the South
side of the City, to enable the Department to effectively respond to emergencies; and
WHEREAS, the City of San Rafael is the recipient of a California Office of Traffic
Safety (OTS) Grant in the amount of $37,015.00 to purchase two sets of HURST
Extrication Tools.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council authorize the Fire
Chief to purchase two sets of HURST Extrication Tools from the sole source vendor
L.N. Curtis & Sons.
I, JEANNE M. LEONCINI, Clerk of the City of San Rafael, hereby certify that the
foregoing resolution was duly and regularly introduced and adopted at a regular meeting
of the City Council of said City held on the 17th day of Julv. 2000, by the following vote,
to wit:
