A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SAN RAFAEL ACCEPTING COMMUNITY
DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT FUNDS FOR
PICKLEWEED CHILD CARE CENTER
WHEREAS, the City of San Rafael has been awarded Community Development Block
Grant funds in the amount of $8,500.00 for the provision of an additional child-care teacher at the
Pickleweed Community Child Care Center for fiscal year 2000-2001; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of San Rafael desires to accept these CDBG
funds and intends to commit these funds for these purposes in accordance with the requirements of
the Community Development Agency of the County of Marin;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of San
Rafael hereby 1) accepts Community Development Block Grant Funds in the amount of $8,500.00
from the County of Marin, 2) authorizes the Mayor to execute all necessary documents in relation
to this grant, and 3) directs that the CDBG funds be used to pay the salary of an additional teacher
(kindergarten) at the Pickleweed Child Care Center.
I, Jeanne M. Leoncini, Clerk of the City of San Rafael, hereby certify that the foregoing
Resolution was duly and regularly introduced and adopted at a regular meeting of the San Rafael
City Council held on the 18th day of September, 2000, by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Councilmembers: Cohen, Heller, Phillips and Mayor Boro
NOES: Councilmembers: None

GOALS, TASKS, AND OBJECTIVES
City of San Rafael Child Care Division will use CDBG funds towards the salaries of staff who provide
child care services for low income families during the period of July 1, 2000 to June 30, 2001.
The Operating Agency agrees to attend training on the requirements of Section 504 of the Rehabilitation
act of 1973 and the Americans with Disabilities Act. At least 51% of dhents sen ed with CDBG fiends
will meet low-income requirements established by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban
Development.
