HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC Resolution 10736 (Community Oriented Policing)RESOLUTION NO. 10736 RESOLUTION OF THE SAN RAFAEL CITY COUNCIL APPROVING USE OF STATE COPS PROGRAM SUPPLEMENTAL SERVICES FUNDS IN THE AMOUNT OF $121,185.53 FOR COMMUNITY ORIENTED POLICING Whereas, the California State Legislature passed Assembly Bill 1584 which continued the Supplemental Law Enforcement Services Fund and allocated $118,898 to the City of San Rafael for the current fiscal year which the Marin County Sheriff has supplemented by $2,287.53 for a prior fiscal year adjustment; and, Whereas, AB 2885 mandated this money be spent for front line law enforcement purposes; and, Whereas, the City Council has set a priority of implementing Community Oriented Public Safety; and, Whereas, the City Council has previously approved the use of SLESF money for police overtime for Community Oriented Policing during the 2000/2001 city budget hearings; and, Whereas, the Marin County's Supplemental Law Enforcement Oversight Committee requires a spending plan for final approval of fund use; NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council approves the use of $121,185.53 in Supplemental Law Enforcement Services funds for police overtime for Community Oriented Policing. I, Jeanne Leoncini, Clerk of the City of San Rafael, hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was duly and regularly introduced and adopted at'a regular meeting of the San Rafael City Council meeting held on the 6th day of November, 2000 by the following vote, to wit: AYES: COUNCILMEMBERS: Heller, Miller, Phillips and Mayor Boro NOES: COUNCILMEMBERS: None ABSENT: COUNCILMEMBERS: Cohen JLIANNE LEON INI, City Clerk
