RESOLUTION REJECTING BIDS FOR BERNARD HOFFMAN PARK
IMPROVEMENTS AND AUTHORIZE STAFF TO RE-EVALUATE AND REBID
THE PROJECT.
WHEREAS, on the 31 day of August, 1999, pursuant to due and legal notice
published in the manner provided by law, inviting sealed bids for proposals for the work
hereinafter mentioned, as more fully appears from the Affidavit of Publication thereof on
file in the office of the City Clerk of the City of San Rafael, California, the City Clerk of
said City did publicly open, examine, and declare all sealed bids or proposals for doing
the following work in said City, to wit:
"BERNARD HOFFMAN PARK IMPROVEMENTS"
PROJECT NO. 275-6697-616-8000
in accordance with the plans and specifications therefore on file in the office of said City
Clerk; and
WHEREAS, upon review by the City of the submitted bids, it was determined
that all of the bids received were significantly higher than the Engineer's estimate; and
WHEREAS, rejecting and rebidding the project will allow the City time to re-
evaluate and, if necessary, incorporate modifications into the project design and
specifications; and
WHEREAS, under Section 6.09 of the contract documents, the City reserves the
right to reject any and all proposals;

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY ORDERED AND RESOLVED;
that the bids received are rejected.
IT IS FURTHER ORDERED AND RESOLVED that the City shall re-evaluate
and rebid the project.
I, JEANNE M. LEONCINI, City Clerk of the City of San Rafael, hereby certify
that the foregoing resolution was duly and regularly introduced and adopted at a regular
meeting of the Council of said City held on the 7`h day of September, 1999, by the
following vote, to wit:
AYES: COUNCIL MEMBERS: Cohen, Heller, Miller, Phillips and Mayor Boro
NOES: COUNCIL MEMBERS: None
