A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE SIGNING OF A
CONTRACT, LEASE OR AGREEMENT
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN RAFAEL RESOLVES as follows:
The MAYOR and CITY CLERK are authorized to execute, on behalf of the City
of San Rafael, a contract, lease or agreement with JOINT POWERS AGREEMENT -
CSA 19 FIRE PROTECTION SERVICES AMENDMENT (RETROACTIVE TO JUNE 1,
1998 THROUGH JUNE 30. 2006) a copy of which is hereby attached and by this
reference made a part hereof.

foregoing resolution was duly and regularly introduced and adopted at a Regular
meeting of the City Council of said City held on MONDAY, the 18th day of

AMENDMENT TO JOINT POWERS AGREEMENT BETWEEN
COUNTY SERVICE AREA 19 AND THE CITY OF SAN RAFAEL
FOR FIRE PROTECTION SERVICES
This Agreement, made and entered into this 1 Sth day of 0CTOBER , 1999, by and between COUNTY
SERVICE AREA 19 of the COUNTY OF MARIN, hereinafter referred to as "Service Area", and the CITY OF
SAN RAFAEL, hereinafter referred to as "Contractor".
WITNESSETH:
WHEREAS, the parties to this Agreement have entered into a Joint Powers Agreement dated May 19, 1986 and
amended August 16, 1994, for fire protection services to residents of County Service Area 19, as described in
Exhibit A, attached hereto and by this reference incorporated herein, which agreement by its terms expired as of
June 30, 1998; and
WHEREAS, it is the purpose of this amendment to agreement to provide continuance of these services.
1. This agreement shall continue in full force and effect, retroactive to July 1, 1998, through June 30, 2006. It is
understood that Contractor, no later than April 1, 2006, will meet with County to negotiate services provided and
sums payable to Contractor for Fiscal Year 2006-2007 and beyond.
2. In all respects save as enumerated in Section 1 hereof, the agreement of May 1986, as amended by the
amendment dated August 16, 1994, shall be in full force and effect.
