RESOLUTION OF THE SAN RAFAEL CITY COUNCIL
PRESENTING DESIGN AWARDS RECOGNIZING
OUTSTANDING ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN FOR THE
STRUCTURE LOCATED AT 1101 FIFTH AVENUE
WHEREAS, the City Council established the Design Awards Program on March 1, 1999 to
recognize development projects with outstanding architectural design; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council established a Design Awards Committee consisting of a
representative from the City Council, Planning Commission, Design Review Board, Chamber of
Commerce, Federation of San Rafael Neighborhoods, North San Rafael Coalition, and Marin
Chapter of the American Institute of Architects; and,
WHEREAS, the Design Awards Committee met on November 18, 1999 and reviewed the
design award nominees and recommended a design award for the structure at 1101 Fifth Avenue;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council hereby honors the structure at
1101 Fifth Avenue as an outstanding example of architectural design and contribution to the City
of San Rafael and presents a design award to the project developer, Monahan Parker, and the
three project architects: BAR; Fee Munson Ebert; and Hannum Associates.
I, JEANNE M. LEONCINI, Clerk of the City of San Rafael, hereby certify that the foregoing
resolution was duly and regularly introduced and adopted at a regular meeting of the Council of
said City on Monday, the 20`h day of December, 1999, by the following vote, to wit:
