RESOLUTION OF THE SAN RAFAEL CITY COUNCIL
PRESENTING DESIGN AWARDS RECOGNIZING
OUTSTANDING ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN FOR MARIA
B. FREITAS SENIOR HOUSING COMPLEX AT ONE
TRINITY WAY
WHEREAS, the City Council established the Design Awards Program on March 1, 1999 to
recognize development projects with outstanding architectural design; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council established a Design Awards Committee consisting of a
representative from the City Council, Planning Commission, Design Review Board, Chamber of
Commerce, Federation of San Rafael Neighborhoods, North San Rafael Coalition, and Marin
Chapter of the American Institute of Architects; and,
WHEREAS, the Design Awards Committee met on November 18, 1999 and reviewed the
design award nominees and recommended a design award for the Maria B. Freitas Senior
Housing Complex;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council hereby honors the Maria B.
Freitas Senior Housing Complex as an outstanding example of senior residential architectural
design and contribution to the City of San Rafael, and presents a design award to the project
developer, Mercy Charities Housing, and project architect, Rushton-Chartock Architects.
I, JEANNE M. LEONCINI, Clerk of the City of San Rafael, hereby certify that the foregoing
resolution was duly and regularly introduced and adopted at a regular meeting of the Council of
said City on Monday, the 201h day of December, 1999, by the following vote, to wit:
