WAEL REDEVELOPMENT A
PRESENTS THIS
RESOLUTION OF APPRECIATION
TO
JAKE OURS
ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR
WHEREAS, Jake, regardless of his official title or legal name, signs all documents, contracts and staff reports
as simply "Jake", because for San Rafael, there is no other Jake; and
WHEREAS, Jake has provided irreplaceable guidance to the Agency since 1983, and has made the
Redevelopment Project Area the resounding success we all enjoy today; and
WHEREAS, Jake's role call of achievements include millions in Redevelopment Bond financing, the Rafael
Film Center, the Farmers Market Festival, Greg Borrelli's Classic Car Parade, Lone Palm Court
Apartments, Centertown Apartments, 1 H Street Apartments, Boyd Court Condos, Rotary Manor, a
battered women's shelter, transitional housing, Andersen Drive extension, Tamalpais Street extension, the
Palm promenade in Albert Park, Fourth Street Sidewalks, outdoor seating areas for restaurants, twinkle
lights, decorative street lights, hundreds of street trees, removal of overhead power lines, the Downtown
entry monuments, miles of storm drains, the Downtown Vision, the Fair Isaac Office complex, the Macy's
site project, the Shamrock Center, the Toy's R Us center, and the PG&E Service Center; and
WHEREAS, Jake is a master at maneuvering complicated political situations, controversial projects and
delicate egos, and will soon learn to maneuver his new truck in and out of parking spaces; and
WHEREAS, the entire San Rafael Community will miss Jake and Nicole and wishes them joy and success in
all their future endeavors, most especially in any that include fishing.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the San Rafael Redevelopment Agency hereby extends its
appreciation to Jake Ours for sixteen years of outstanding service to the San Rafael Community.
