RESOLUTION NO.10348
A RESOLUTION OF THE SAN RAFAEL CITY COUNCIL
ACCEPTING THE CONCEPTUAL PLAN FOR THE RENOVATION
OF FREITAS PARK.
WHEREAS, the City approved the replacement of the Freitas Park
Ponds with a water play feature that meets health and safety codes,
and
WHEREAS, the City appropriated $227,000 for the project, and
WHEREAS, the City is required to install access to Freitas Park and
park restrooms, compliant with ADA standards, and an irrigation
system compliant with Marin Municipal Water district requirements for
reclaimed water, and
WHEREAS, The City hired the firm of Keller, Mitchel and Company to
provide landscape architectural services for the development of a
conceptual design for Freitas Park renovation, and
WHEREAS, the Restore Freitas Park citizen's Committee has organized
to help design and fundraise for the park improvement projects, and
WHEREAS, the Park and Recreation Commission recommends the City
Council approve the conceptual plan for Freitas Park renovation,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the
City of San Rafael hereby accepts the conceptual plan for the
renovation of Freitas Park.
I, JEANNE M. LEONCINI, Clerk of the City of San Rafael, hereby certify
that the foregoing resolution was duly and regularly introduced and
adopted at regular meeting of the Council of said City on
MONDAY , the 21 ST day of DECEMBER, 1998 by
the following vote, to wit:
AYES: COUNCILMEMBERS: Heller, Miller, Phillips & Mayor Boro
NOES: COUNCILMEMBERS: None
ABSENT: COUNCILMEMBERS: Cohen
