A RESOLUTION OF THE SAN RAFAEL CITY COUNCIL AUTHORIZING THE
PURCHASE OF FOUR (4) STAFF VEHICLES FROM THE STATE OF
CALIFORNIA DEPARTMENT OF GENERAL SERVICES,
PROCUREMENT DIVISION FOR THE AMOUNT OF $126,777.24
WHEREAS, the San Rafael Fire Department has identified four (4) staff vehicles
which meet the criteria for replacement during this fiscal year (1997/98); and
WHEREAS, section 2.55.260 of the City's Purchasing Policy exempts
cooperative purchase with other agencies from the competitive bidding requirement of
Chapter 2.55 of the City of San Rafael Municipal Code; and
WHEREAS, the State of California satisfied competitive bidding requirements
and has signed a contract with various dealers on Contract 1-98-23-20 and 1-98-23-14,
and;
WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the City financially to purchase the above
mentioned vehicles through the State of California.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SAN RAFAEL does hereby authorize the Fire Department, through the State
of California, Procurement Division, Department of General Services, to purchase four
(4) vehicles, 11 sted on Exhibit "A" attached hereto, for and on behalf of the City of San
Rafael pursuant to Section 10324 of the California Public Contract Code, and that the
Fire Chief is hereby authorized to sign and deliver all necessary requests and other
documents in connection therewith for and on behalf of the City of San Rafael. The
cost of the four (4) vehicles shall not exceed a total of $126,777.24.
I, Jeanne M. Leoncini, Clerk of the City of San Rafael, hereby certify that the foregoing
resolution was duly and regularly introduced and adopted at a regular meeting of the
City Council held on June 1, 1998 by the following vote, to wit:
AYES: Councilmembers: Cohen, Heller, Miller and Mayor Boro
NOES: Councilmembers: None
ABSENT: Councilmembers: Phillips
