RESOLUTION OF THE SAN RAFAEL CITY COUNCIL APPROVING USE OF
FEDERAL LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT BLOCK GRANT FUNDS IN THE
AMOUNT OF $60,122.00 FOR POLICE CADET PROGRAM
Whereas, the United States Department of Justice, Bureau of Justice
Assistance Granted the City of San Rafael $60,122 in block grant
funds; and,
Whereas, this block grant money may be spent to hire necessary law
enforcement support personnel; and,
Whereas, the City of San Rafael is creating a Police Cadet program; and,
Whereas, the police cadets will work closely with law enforcement officers in
decreasing community crime and improving quality of life issues; and,
Whereas, the City Council must approve use of the grant funds to begin the
process of grant approval;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council approves the use
of $60,122 in Local Law Enforcement Block Grant funds to hire 3
Police Cadets, pending required grant approval processes.
I, Jeanne Leoncini, Clerk of the City of San Rafael, hereby certify that the
foregoing resolution was duly and regularly introduced and adopted at
a regular meeting of the San Rafael City Council meeting held on the2nd
day of February, 1998 by the following vote, to wit:

NOES: COUNCILMEMBERS: NONE
