CITY OF SAN RAFAEL
PRESENTS THIS
RESOLUTION OF APPRECIATION
TO
STEPHEN DOBBS
WHEREAS, for the past seven years, Stephen Dobbs has served as
President and CEO of the Marin Community Foundation, the third largest
community foundation in the United States; and
WHEREAS, during his years with the Foundation, Stephen Dobbs not only
made it a priority to attract other monies that could be awarded for philanthropic
causes beyond those outlined in Beryl Buck's will, but also helped to change the
Foundation from a grantmaker alone to a force for discussion, mediation and
goal -setting in the community; and
WHEREAS, he worked toward the goal of bringing agencies together to
solve community problems, rather than funding redundant programs working in
the same arenas; and
WHEREAS, Stephen Dobbs left his post at the Foundation on December
31, 1997; in order to pursue other interests.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City
of San Rafael, on behalf of all of its residents, hereby acknowledges the many
achievements accomplished by Stephen Dobbs during his tenure as President
and CEO of the Marin Community Foundation and expresses its pride in the fact
that he, also, is a resident of our fair city.
