RESOLUTION NO. 9954
CITY OF SAN RAFAEL
PRESENTS THIS
RESOLUTION OF APPRECIATION
TO
SHARON MCNAMEE
WHEREAS, Sharon McNamee has been a vital member of the Management Team, as the Recreation
Director, since her appointment in August, 1984; and
WHEREAS, Sharon has been a guiding light in developing and/or reshaping City parks and recreation
facilities throughout San Rafael, with particular involvement In both East and North San
Rafael, to properly respond to the changing needs of the community; and
WHEREAS, Sharon was instrumental in revitali7Jng Albert Park by promoting the highly successful
bocce courts; upgrading the children's play area and sports facilities; and her support and
involvement in the creation of the beautiful Lonatese Gardens; and
WHEREAS, over the years, Sharon played a key role In numerous City projects which Include
environmental Improvements, including the recent rehabilitation of Mahon Creek; and
WHEREAS, Sharon has gained the respect and admiration of the community and her peers through her
ongoing commitment to and success In obtaining Input from and the direct participation of
San Rafael residents in projects, literally from the ground up; and
WHEREAS, Sharon unfailingly approaches her work with great good humor, energy and a commitment
to fun which will be sorely missed; and
WHEREAS, Sharon has consistently demonstrated unflagging enthusiasm and willingness to participate
in a wide variety of projects of city-wide Importance. Her skill in forming partnerships with
the community and private sector have brought about many positive changes to the City's
parks and recreation facilities.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, THAT THE Mayor and City Council hereby express our
sincere appreciation and gratitude to Sharon McNamee for her substantial contributions and
commitment to the City of San Rafael.
