RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN RAFAEL
AUTHORIZING CHANGE OF FUNDING SOURCE FROM THE GAS TAX TO THE
GARBAGE FRANCHISE FEE IN ORDER TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR STATE
REIMBURSEMENT
WHEREAS, the contract for the project entitled, "Traffic Signal Installation on D
St. at Bayview St." was awarded to Republic Electric for the low bid of $69,956.40 on June 10,
1997; and
WHEREAS, the City has applied for partial reimbursement for this project from
the California Department of Transportation under the State -Local Transportation Partnership
Program guidelines and was accepted as being eligible to receive 25% reimbursement of the
original contract price; and
WHEREAS, the current funding source for this project, the Gas Tax Fund, is a
State funding source and is not eligible for State reimbursement; and
WHEREAS, staff has identified the Garbage Franchise Fee as a suitable alternate
funding source eligible for State reimbursement; and
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY ORDERED AND RESOLVED
that the funding source for the project entitled, "Traffic Signal Installation on D St. at
Bayview St." be changed from the Gas Tax Fund to the Garbage Franchise Fee.
I, JEANNE M. LEONCINI, Clerk of the City of San Rafael, hereby
certify that the foregoing resolution was duly and regularly introduced and adopted at a
regular meeting of the Council of said City on Monday, the 151 day of December, 1997, by
the following vote, to wit:
