A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SAN RAFAEL INITIATING PROCEEDINGS ON ITS
OWN MOTION TO ADD TITLE 14 TO PROHIBIT A
MEDICAL MARIJUANA DISPENSARY AS AN
ALLOWABLE USE OR A HOME OCCUPATION
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN RAFAEL DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS
FOLLOWS:
WHEREAS, Pursuant to provisions of Chapter 14.27 of the San Rafael Municipal Code,
the City Council of the City of San Rafael has this date initiated proceedings to adopt that certain
proposed Urgency Ordinance entitled, "AN URGENCY ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SAN
RAFAEL ADDING CHAPTER 30 OF TITLE 14 TO PROHIBIT A MEDICAL MARIJUANA
DISPENSARY AS AN ALLOWABLE USE OR A HOME OCCUPATION AND SETTING
FORTH THE FACTS CONSTITUTING SUCH URGENCY."
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the above-mentioned Urgency Ordinance
is hereby referred to the Planning Commission for its report, comments, and recommendations for
modification to the contents of the Urgency Ordinance as soon as its agenda conveniently permits,
and the City Clerk is hereby directed to send a copy of this Resolution to said Planning
Commission forthwith.
The foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly introduced and adopted at a regular
meeting of the San Rafael City Council held on the 2151 day of April, 1997, by the following vote to
wit:
AYES: Councilmembem Cohen, Heller, Miller, Phillips & Mayor Boro
NOES: Councilmembers: None
ABSENT: Councilmembers: None
