CITY OF SAN RAFAEL
PRESENTS THIS
RESOLUTION OF APPRECIATION
TO
SUZY VALLEY ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
WHEREAS, Californians desire few things more strongly than the opportunity to
send their children to Fine schools where they are encouraged to
succeed and are held to high standards of academic excellence; and
WHEREAS, the teachers, parents and administrators of Shin Valley Elementary
School work together to develop a nurturing learning environment
that focuses on promoting positive self-esteem; and
WHEREAS, Sun Valley provides an instructional program that fosters intellectual
curiosity and critical thinking, and motivates students to develop to
their fullest potential intellectually, socially and emotionally; and
WHEREAS, the State of California School Recognition Program was established to
honor schools that have demonstrated their exemplary educational
program as determined by successful teaching and learning, high
standards for all students, rigorous graduation requirements, strong
family and community involvement, partnerships with the business
community, safe and clean school environments, and modern
technology; and
WHEREAS, Stun Valley Elementary School, within the City of San Rafael and the
San Rafael Elementary School District, has been recognized by the
California Department of Education among California's 4,900
elementary schools as a Distinguished School,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of San
Rafael commends Shin Valley Elementary School for being selected as a California
Distinguished Sichool and expresses sincere appreciation for the outstanding
service to the children of the San Rafael community.
