RESOLUTION REJECTING BIDS FOR 2ND, 3RD, AND A ST. UNDERGROUND
UTILITY DISTRICT IMPROVEMENTS AND AUTHORIZE STAFF TO REBID
PROJECT
WHEREAS, on the 17`x' day of April, 1997, pursuant to due and legal
notice published in the manner provided by law, inviting sealed bids or proposals for the
work hereinafter mentioned, as more fully appears from the Affidavit of Publication
thereof on file in the office of the City Clerk of the City of San Rafael, California, the City
Clerk of said City did publicly open, examine, and declare all sealed bids or proposals for
doing the following work in said City, to wit:
662 ND 3RD' AND A ST. UNDERGROUND UTILITY DISTRICT IMPROVEMENTS"
PROJECT NO. 912-9012-8809
in accordance with the plans and specifications therefor on file in the office of said City
Clerk; and
WHEREAS, a typographical error in the bid items may have caused
confusion and error in bids received; and
WHEREAS, upon review by the City of the submitted bids, it was
determined that all of the bids received were significantly higher than the Engineer's
Estimate; and
WHEREAS, rejecting and rebidding the project will allow the City time to
evaluate and incorporate clarifications into the bid package; and
WHEREAS, under Section 6.09 of the contract documents, the City
reserves the right to reject any and all proposals;
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY ORDERED AND RESOLVED
that the bids received are rejected.
IT IS FURTHER ORDERED AND RESOLVED that the City shall
rebid the project, with clarification to the bid items.
I, JEANNE M. LEONCINI, Clerk of the City of San Rafael, hereby
certify that the foregoing resolution was duly and regularly introduced and adopted at a
regular meeting of the Council of said City on Monday, the 5"' day of May, 1997, by the
following vote, to wit:
