RESOLUTION NO. 9884
CITY OF SAN RAFAEL
PRESENTS THIS
RESOLUTION OF APPRECIATION
TO
RICHARD OLMSTED
FOR EIGHT YEARS OF DISTINGUISHED SERVICE
ON THE DESIGN REVIEW BOARD
WHEREAS, on July 3, 1989, the City Council of the City of San Rafael appointed Richard Olmsted to
serve a four year term on the Design Review Board of the City of San Rafael; and
WHEREAS, Richard Olmsted diligently performed his duties as a Design Review Board member
during this term and represented the interests of the residents of the City by encouraging
well-designed projects which were compatible with neighborhoods; and
WHEREAS, in recognition of his performance as a Design Review Board member, the City Council
appointed Richard Olmsted to a second term on the Design Review Board on July 6,1993;
and
WHEREAS,
during his eight years on the Design Review Board, Richard Olmsted participated in the
review of many projects of great importance to the future design and environment of the
City of San Rafael; and
WHEREAS
Richard Olmsted was instrumental in creating new procedures and Rules of Order for the
Design Review Board and served as the Board's first Chairman.
WHEREAS,
Richard Olmsted performed his Design Review Board duties with great skill and
integrity, and many times provided the Board expert design analysis on difficult design
issues; and
WHEREAS,
the City Council wishes to acknowledge the diligent manner in which Richard has
performed his duties and the many hours of public service spent in behalf of the City of
San Rafael.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the San Rafael City Council, on behalf of the residents of the
City of San Rafael, hereby expresses its appreciation to Richard Olmsted for his outstanding contribution in
promoting excellence in design for the City of San Rafael which will improve the quality of the lives of the
current and future residents of San Rafael.
The foregoing Resolution was adopted at the regular meeting of the City of San Rafael City Council held on
the 21st day of July, 1997.
