A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN RAFAEL
INCREASING THE ALLOCATION FROM THE EQUIPMENT REPLACEMENT FUND
(009 ACCOUNT) FROM $12,500/VEHICLE TO $16,500/VEHICLE TO REPLACE TWO
(2) INSPECTOR STATION WAGONS WITH USED TWO -WHEEL DRIVE UTILITY
VEHICLES.
WHEREAS, $25,000 is currently budgeted in the Equipment Replacement Fund
(009 Account) in Fiscal year 1996/1997 for the replacement of two (2) inspector station wagons;
WHEREAS, previous use of these vehicles for inspection purposes has
increased the maintenance costs on these vehicles;
WHEREAS, the Public Works Department requires vehicles with higher
ground clearance in order to conduct construction inspection activities in a safe and
efficient manner;
WHEREAS, the cost for used two -wheel drive utility vehicles suitable for public
works purposes will cost $16,500/vehicle to replace; and
WHEREAS, there are sufficient funds in the Equipment Replacement
Account to fund this request.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of
San Rafael that the current allocation of $12,500 per vehicle to replace the construction
inspection station wagon is increased to $16,500 per vehicle to purchase used two -wheel
drive utility vehicles.
I, JEANNE. M. LEONCINI, Clerk of the City of San Rafael, hereby certify that
the foregoing resolution was duly and regularly introduced and adopted at a regular meeting of
the Council of said City on the 18th day of November, 1996, by the following vote, to wit:
