RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING USE OF STATE COPS PROGRAM SUPPLEMENTAL
SERVICES FUNDS IN THE AMOUNT OF $120,594 FOR PICKLEWEED CITY
SERVICES CENTER IMPROVEMENTS AND COMMUNITY ORIENTED POLICING
OFFICER
WHEREAS, the California Legislature passed AB 3229 which established the
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council approves the use of
$120,594 in Supplemental Law Enforcement Services funds to expand
the Pickleweed Center and to hire an additional police officer for
community oriented policing activities.
I, Jeanne Leoncini, Clerk of the City of San Rafael, hereby certify that the foregoing
resolution was duly and regularly introduced and adopted at a regular
meeting of the San Rafael City Council meeting held on the 18th day of
November, 1996 by the following vote, to wit:
AYES: COUNCILMEMBERS: Cohen, Heller, Miller, Phillips & Mayor Boro
NOES: COUNCILMEMBERS: None
ABSENT: COUNCILMEMBERS: None

Supplemental Law Enforcement Services Fund and which allocated
$120,594 to the City of San Rafael; and,
WHEREAS,
AB 3229 mandated that this money be spent for front line law
enforcement purposes; and,
WHEREAS,
the City Council has set a priority of bringing increased law enforcement
services to the Canal Area of San Rafael through code enforcement and
community oriented policing activities; and,
WHEREAS,
the City requires office additional office space and a police officer to
accomplish satisfy this priority need; and,
WHEREAS,
Marin County's Supplemental Law Enforcement Oversight Committee
requires a spending plan for final approval of fund use;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council approves the use of
$120,594 in Supplemental Law Enforcement Services funds to expand
the Pickleweed Center and to hire an additional police officer for
community oriented policing activities.
