HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC Resolution 9749 (Purchase Traffic Model Software)RESOLUTION NO. 1749 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN RAFAEL AUTHORIZING PROPORTIONAL EXPENDITURE OF TRAFFIC MITIGATION FEES (046, 047, AND 048 ACCOUNTS) NOT TO EXCEED $15,000 TO PURCHASE TRAFFIC MODEL SOFTWARE (TRANPLAN), COMPUTER EQUIPMENT (HARDWARE AND SOFTWARE), TRAINING AND FURNITURE FOR TRAFFIC MODELING PURPOSES. WHEREAS, on March 4, 1996, City Council approved and accepted the City's traffic model and conclusions; and WHEREAS, said traffic model was developed by W -Trans, a traffic consultant, at a cost of $150,000; and WHEREAS, Council approved an Engineer I (traffic) position for Public Works/Redevelopment to perform traffic modeling studies and evaluation in this year's current budget; and WHEREAS, the City wishes to have staff analyze potential development scenarios, including infrastructure needs, and land use impacts; and WHEREAS, the City will need to purchase a license to run the TRANPLAN model as well as purchase necessary computer equipment (hardware and software) and furniture for in house analysis; and WHEREAS, the estimated cost for the TRANPLAN software and one year technical support is $10,000; computer equipment (other related software and hardware), and furniture is estimated at $15,000 and training and assistance to transition the model information to staff is estimated at $5,000. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of San Rafael that the funding be shared between the City and Redevelopment Agency at an amount not to exceed $30,000. The City's $15,000 share will be funded proportionately by Northgate, Downtown, and East San Rafael Traffic Mitigation fees (Funds 046, 047, 048). IT IS FURTHERMORE RESOLVED that the Council does hereby authorize the Public Works Director to purchase these items. T��Gi�jtil(ea I, JEANNE. M.
