RESOLUTION OF THE SAN RAFAEL CITY COUNCIL TO APPOINT AN
INTERIM CITY DIRECTOR OF ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES
WHEREAS, the Office of Director of Administrative Services for the City of San
Rafael has become vacant as of August 24, 1996 due to the resignation of Finance
Director Ransom Coleman; and
WHEREAS, the Office of Finance Director has been redesignated `Director of
Administrative Services", and the duties of said office include all duties of the former
Office of Finance Director; and
WHEREAS, the City has started the recruitment process to fill the Office of
Director of Administrative Services, and this process will not be completed for
approximately two months; and
WHEREAS, it is essential for the efficient management of the City's financial
affairs that an interim Director of Administrative Services be appointed; and
WHEREAS, the City Council, under the City Charter and Municipal Code, has
the authority to appoint such officer.
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED that Susan B. Merrill is
hereby appointed as the interim Director of Administrative Services, effective August
26, 1996, to perform all functions, including those duties of the Finance Director, as
designated in the San Rafael City Charter and San Rafael Municipal Code, until such
time as the City Council appoints a permanent Director of Administrative Services.
I, JEANNE M. LEONCINI, Clerk of the City of San Rafael, hereby certify that
the foregoing resolution was duly and regularly introduced and adopted at a regular
meeting of the Council of said City the 16th day of September, 1996 by the following
vote, to wit:
AYES: COUNCILMEMBERS: Cohen, Miller, Phillips & Mayor Boro
NOES: COUNCILMEMBERS: None
ABSENT: COUNCILMEMBERS: Heller
