RESOLUTION NO. 9700
CITY OF SAN RAFAEL
PRESENTS THIS
RESOLUTION OF APPRECIATION
TO
P. ROBERT KROLAK
CHIEF OF POLICE
WHEREAS, P. Robert Krolak has served the citizens of San Rafael since appointment as a
Lieutenant of Police on February 10, 1978; Police Captain from March 1, 1987;
and finally, since October 27, 1992, as Chief of Police; and
WHEREAS, Chief Krolak assumed the mantle of leadership under the most difficult of
circumstances and brought the department through an unsettling period of change
while maintaining the high standards demanded by the citizens of San Rafael; and
WHEREAS, Chief Krolak encouraged and supported diverse new programs inside as well
as outside the department such as the Citizens' Academy, foot and bicycle patrols,
school and juvenile programs, a newsletter, and expanded departmental training,
all during a period of economic austerity; and
WHEREAS, Chief Krolak, will continue to serve as an example for present and future officers
as the model of an honest, hardworking, down to earth police officer of
uncommon integrity, forthrightness and compassion who treated all those he met
with dignity and respect.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED That the Mayor and City Council, on behalf of the
citizens of San Rafael acknowledge Chief Krolak's dedication and leadership and wish to express
their sincere appreciation and gratitude for a job well done and offer their best wishes for
continued success, health and happiness in the future.
