A RESOLUTION OF THE SAN RAFAEL CITY COUNCIL
ESTABLISHING A SUPPLEMENTAL LAW ENFORCEMENT SERVICE FUND (SLESF)
FOR THE RECEIPT OF COPS PROGRAM FUNDING AND EXPENDITURES
WHEREAS, California State Assembly Bill 3229, signed into law as Chapter
134, Statues of 1996, establishes the Citizens Option for Public Safety (COPS)
Program; and
WHEREAS, to be eligible to receive its share of the COPS Program funding
the law requires the City to establish a Supplemental law Enforcement Service
Fund (SLESF); and
WHEREAS, the Police Department will provide the City Council with the
proposed use of these funds during the next 60 days; and
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council requests the City Treasurer to establish
a Supplemental Law Enforcement Service Fund (SLESF) for receipt of COPS
Program funding and expenditures:
I, JEANNE M. LEONCINI, Clerk of the City of San Rafael, hereby certify that the
foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly introduced and adopted at a
regular meeting of the Council of said City on, Monday, the sixteenth day of
September 1996, by the following vote, to wit:

NOES: COUNCILMEMBERS: None
ABSENT: COUNCILMEMBERS: Heller
