RESOLUTION OF THE SAN RAFAEL CITY COUNCIL TO
APPOINT THE CITY MANAGER AS THE INTERIM CITY
TREASURER
WHEREAS, the Office of City Treasurer for the City of San Rafael shall become vacant
as of August 24, 1996 due to the resignation of Ransom Coleman; and
WHEREAS, the City has started the recruitment process to fill the Office of City
Treasurer/Finance Director, and this process will not be completed for approximately 3 -to -4
months; and
WHEREAS, it is essential for the efficient management of the City's financial affairs that
an interim City Treasurer be appointed; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has the authority to appoint a City Treasurer pursuant to
Article VI, section 11 of the San Rafael City Charter.
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED that the City Manager is hereby
appointed as the interim City Treasurer to perform all functions of the City Treasurer as
designated in the San Rafael City Charter and San Rafael Municipal Code, until such time as the
City Council appoints a permanent City Treasurer.
I, JEANNE M. LEONCINI, Clerk of the City of San Rafael, California, hereby certify
that the foregoing resolution was duly and regularly introduced and adopted at a regular meeting
of the Council of said City held on the 5`h day of August, 1996, by the following vote, to wit:
AYES: Councilmembers: Heller, Miller, Phillips, & Mayor Boro
NOES: Councilmembers: None
ABSENT: Councilmembers: Cohen
