A RESOLUTION OF THE SAN RAFAEL CITY COUNCIL AUTHORIZING THE
PURCHASE OF NOTEBOOK COMPUTERS FROM COMPUCOM, INC., FOR AN
INTEGRATED POLICE REPORT WRITING SYSTEM FOR THE SAN RAFAEL
POLICE DEPARTMENT FOR $46,160.46.
WHEREAS, the San Rafael Police Department has been awarded a Federally funded
COPS MORE Grant in order to purchase computer software, notebook computers and other
necessary hardware and software for usage by patrol officers, investigators and supervisors to
increase the presence of existing sworn officers in community policing activities; and
WHEREAS, Merced County has requested and received bids for computer hardware
and awarded said bid to Compucom, Inc., through a program identified as GOVERNMENT
TECHNOLOGY PARTNERSHIP (GTPA), and;
WHEREAS, section 2.55.260 of the City's Purchasing Policy exempts cooperative
purchase with other agencies, from the competitive bidding requirements of Chapter 2.55 of the
City of San Rafael Municipal Code; and
WHEREAS, Merced County satisfied competitive bidding requirements, and has signed
a contract with Compucom, Inc., #GTPA -9018, and;
WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the City financially to purchase the above
mentioned notebook computers from Compucom, Inc.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED That the San Rafael City Council hereby
authorizes the Chief of Police to purchase computer equipment from Compucom, Inc. for a total
price of $46,160.46.
I, Jeanne M. Leoncini, Clerk of the City of San Rafael, hereby certify that the foregoing
resolution was duly and regularly introduced and adopted at a regular meeting of the City
Council held on Monday, the 19th day of August, 1996, by the following vote, to wit:
