RESOLUTION NO. 9600
CITY OF SAN RAFAEL
PRESENTS THIS
RESOLUTION OF 11PPRECIRTION
TO
MR. HERB WEINER
WHEREAS, the San Rafael Fire Department needed a site to relocate its personnel
and apparatus while Fire Station 6 was under construction; and
WHEREAS, there was an absence of available sites in the Terra Linda area for
consideration; and
WHEREAS, a vacant lot at Del Presidio and Las Gallinas was located as an
excellent site to temporarily relocate Station 6, and provide effective response time; and
WHEREAS, the owner of the site, Mr. Herb Weiner, was contacted and in the
interest of the community provided the site at no cost to the Department; and
WHEREAS, Station 6 was temporarily relocated to that site for an eight month
period during the construction of the fire station at 6S0 Del Ganado Road; and
WHEREAS, without the generosity of Mr. Weiner, the Fire Department would not
have relocated Station 6 to a site that allowed the continuation of excellent response
time; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Weiner's generosity and dedication to communities throughout
Marin County is commendable and exemplifies the true spirit of community.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of San
Rafael hereby expresses its sincere appreciation for the generosity and spirit of
community that was exhibited by Mr. Weiner in allowing the use of his property which
provided for the continuation of effective fire service in the Terra Linda Valley.
