RESOLUTION NO. 9566
CITY OF SAN RAFAEL
PRESENTS THIS
RESOhUTION OF APPRECIATION
TO
ROB/N SWEENY
WHEREAS, Robin Sweeny has announced her retirement, after serving as a
member of the Sausalito City Council for 28 years; and
WHEREAS, during that time Robin served as Mayor four different times; and
WHEREAS, among the many accomplishments ofthe Sausalito City Council during
her tenure are the transition of City Hall from an outdated downtown building to its cun'ent
location and the development of Dunphy Park, a park of nearly ten acres including
underwater and waterfront lands; and
WHEREAS, Robin has served on many boards, including Rotary Housing, which
has developed affordable senior rentals in Sausalito, and the Richardson Bay Regional
Agency, and has also served as Ambassador to Sakaide, Japan, as part of the Sausalito
Sister City Program; and
WHEREAS, during her entire political career Robin has maintained a high level of
awareness on all water -oriented issues.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOL VED that the City Council of the City of San
Rafael, on behalf of all its residents, hereby acknowledges the many contributions that
Robin Sweeny has made, not only to the City of Sausalito, but to the rest of Marin County
as well, and extends its best wishes on the occasion of her retirement.
