RESOLUTION NO. 9.458
CITY OF SAN RAFAEL
PRESENTS THIS
RESChUTION DF 11PPRECIRTION
TO
SMOOTHILL SPORTS DISTRIBUTORS INC.
WHEREAS, the San Rafael community came together to describe the
Downtown they desired in Our Vision of Downtown San
Rafael and includes beautiful, tree lined streets that are
pleasant to walk; and
WHEREAS, a stalwart group of volunteers declared themselves to be the
organization Downtown Trees, and gathered community
efforts to plant 100 street trees ; and
WHEREAS, the Smoothill administrative and sales staff - Carol Colgate,
Manager, Sandy Petersen, Mary Miller, Pat Schotka, Geoff
Kinnaird and Sean Strel - worked smart and assiduously to free
time for Cyr Miller to organize the tree planting; and
WHEREAS, Smoothill warehouse clerks Jannette Hibdon and Amy Hayes
and their Coast Guard husbands volunteered to water the trees
each weekend; and
WHEREAS, Smoothill Sports Distributors Inc. provided the watering bags,
watering truck and Downtown Trees T - shirts for donors and
volunteers.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and City Council, on
behalf of all its citizens, hereby express sincere appreciation and
gratitude to everyone at Smoothill Sports Distributors Inc. for
their efforts in making Our Vision for Downtown San Rafael
come alive.
