CITY OF SAN RAFAEL
PRESENTS THIS
RESOWITION OF dPPRECIILTION

ABEY ARNOLD ASSOCIATES
WHEREAS, the San Rafael community came together to describe the
Downtown they desired in Our Vision of Downtown San
Rafael; and includes beautiful, tree lined streets that are
pleasant to walk; and
WHEREAS, a stalwart group of volunteers declared themselves to be the
organization Downtown Trees, and gathered community
efforts to plant 100 street trees; and
WHEREAS, Abey Arnold Associates acted as the landscape architect
consultants from the inception of the project, designed the
p >>gram, generated marketing brochures, located the planting
sites in the field, coordinated the species selection, determined
the planting method; and
WHEREAS, Abey Arnold Associates, when the situation required it, moved
fr -gym a consulting to an implementing mode and dug holes,
planted trees, watered trees and replanted trees; and
WHEREAS, Phil Abey and Peter Arnold never lost faith, never said no, and
discovered the water bags that saved many tree's lives.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and City Council, on
behalf of all its citizens, hereby express sincere appreciation and
gratitude to Abey Arnold Associates, Phil and Peter, for their
efforts in making Our Vision for Downtown San Rafael come
alive.
