CITY OF SAN RAFAEL
MESENTS THIS
RESOLUTION OF dPPRECI11TION
TO
ALTERNATIVE SENTENCING PROGRAM (BOOTCAMP)
SAN QUENTIN STATE PRISON
WHEREAS, the San Rafael community came together to describe the
Downtown they desired in Our Vision of Downtown San
Rafael; and
WHEREAS, -he community Vision includes beautiful, tree lined streets
,hat are pleasant to walk; and
WHEREAS, a stalwart group of volunteers declared themselves to be the
or ;-anization Downtown Trees, and gathered community
efforts to plant 100 street trees; and
WHEREAS, the Alternative Sentencing Program (Bootcamp) San Quentin
State Prison is dedicated to making a difference in the lives of
program participants and to demonstrating that San Quentin
has a positive role to play in the larger community; and
WHEREAS, the Alternative Sentencing Program 4th Platoon, the
Tazmanian Typhoons, dug the holes for the entire tree
planting project and were a visible, public demonstration of
community cooperation.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and City Council, on
behalf of all its citizens, hereby express sincere appreciation and
gratitude to the Alternative Sentencing Program (Bootcamp)
San Quentin State Prison for their efforts in making Our
Vision for Downtown San Rafael come alive.
