RESOLUTION NO. 9398
CITY OF SAN RAFAEL
PRESENTS THIS
RESOLUTION OF 11PPRECIRTION
TO
MAKOTO TAKASHINA
City of San Rafael Design Review Board Member
WHEREAS, on July 1, 1991, the San Rafael City Council appointed Makoto Takashina to serve
a four year term on the Design Review Board of the City of San Rafael; and
WHEREAS, Makoto represented the interests of City residents by encouraging well designed
projects which were compatible with neighborhoods, were designed to context, and provided
useable public spaces; and
WHEREAS, during his four years on the Board Makoto provided design guidance on projects
which will direct the future development of the City of San Rafael, including the Hillside
Residential Design Guidelines and the Downtown Design Guidelines, and also provided
valuable input on the reorganization of the design review process; and
WHEREAS, Makoto's term as a Board Member expired on July 1, 1995 and he has not applied
for reappointment as a Board Member; and
WHEREAS, the City of San Rafael wishes to acknowledge the diligent manner in which
Makoto has performed his duties and the many hours of public service spent in behalf of the
City of San Rafael.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council, on behalf of the residents of the
City of San Rafael, hereby expresses its appreciation to Makoto Takashina for promoting
design excellence which will improve the quality of the lives of the current and future
residents of San Rafael.
