RESOLUTION NO. 9.39-
CITY OF SAN RAFAEL
PRESENTS THIS
RESOWITION OF 11PPRECIRTION
TO
Lionel Ashcroft
WHEREAS, Lionel Ashcroft has served on the Cultural Affairs Commission from
March 3, 1988 to April 1995; and
WHEREAS, Lionel served two terms as Chairman of the Cultural Affairs
Commission; and
WHEREAS, during his time on the Commission Lionel also served on the
Multicultural Planning Committee and The Review Committee for the Long Range
Plans for the City of San Rafael's Cultural Centers 1992-1995; and
WHEREAS, he has been dedicated to preserving both the material and cultural
heritage of our community and has provided vocal leadership in this area; and
WHEREAS, his interest, knowledge, humor, and enlightened storytelling about the
history of San Rafael and the County of Marin has opened a window into the history
of this region for staff and fellow commissioners; and
WHEREAS Mr. Ashcroft's leadership at the Marin County Historical Society has
brought new life and vigor to that organization with a vivid plan for the future.
Now, therefore be it resolved, that the City Council of San Rafael hereby extends its
appreciation to Lionel Ashcroft for his devoted service to the community.
