`Y1WER -qS, in lune, 1993, Our 'Vision of Downtown San Rafael was
presented to the San Rafael City Councifand
gWER,EU the San Rafael City Council determined amendments were needed
to male the San Rafael General Plan and Zoning Ordinance consistent with the Vision, and
`W`�fEREU Gladys Gilliland has served Downtown as a local activist,
particularly in the school community, and
4NNEREU in August, 1993, Gladys was appointed by the San Rafael City
Council to the Downtown Advisor Group charged with translating Our Vision into Genera(Plan
policies and Zoning Ordinance regulations, and
'TWERE.0 Gladys has served on the Parking Subcommittee, and also shared
her perspective as a small business owner, and
`IWEREU in May, 1995, Gladys and the other members of the Downtown
Advisor Group presented to the City Council recommendations which will allow in Downtown
the type of changes and activity promoted in Our Vision.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Council
of the City of San Rafael, on behalf of all its citizens, hereby eTpress sincere appreciation and
gratitude to Gladys for her valuable contributions of time and effort and continuing interest in
the future of Downtown.
