`WWE;REAS, in Yune, 1993, Our Vision of Downtown San Rafael was
presented to the San Rafael City Council, and
WHEREU the San Rafael City Council determined amendments were needed
to make the San Rafael General Plan and Zoning Ordinance consistent with the Vision, and
`Y HERE.0 Tom Obletz has served Downtown as a neighborhood activist,
and as President of the Federation of San Rafael Neighborhoods , and
` WEREU in August, 1993, Tom was appointed by the San Rafael City
Council to the Downtown Advisor Group charged with translating Our Vision into General Plan
policies and Zoning Ordinance regulations, and
`WWEREU Tom has offered the services of the Federation of San Rafael
Neighborhoods in co -sponsoring the highly successful November 14, 1994 Community
Workshop, and
`PWEREU Tom has volunteered to present the group's recommendations to
various organizations, and
UHERE.0 in May, 1995, Tom and the other members of the Downtown
Advisor Group presented to the City Council recommendations which will allow in Downtown
the type of changes and activity promoted in Our Vision.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Council
of the City of San Rafael, on beha f of all its citizens, hereby commitment to the future of
Downtown.
