%WERERS, in June, 1993, Our Vision of Downtown San Rafael was
presented to the San Rafael City Council, and
%ERE.AS, the San Rafael City Council determined amendments were needed
to make the San Rafael General Plan and Zoning Ordinance consistent with the Vision, and
%WEREU Larry Paul has served Downtown as a Vision veteran, having
served on the Downtown Community Plan Committee which wrote Our Vision of Downtown
San Rafael, as wed as a member the Downtown Advisor Group's cousin committee, the
Downtown Vision Committee, and a member of the San Rafael Design Review Board, and
1WERE.RS, in August, 1993, Larry was appointed by the San Rafael City
Council to the Downtown Advisor Group charged with translating Our Vision into General Plan
policies and Zoning Ordinance regulations, and
gWEREAS, Larry has provided considerable design expertise, and helped carry
forward the spirit of the Vision, and
gWEREU Larry has served on numerous subcommittees to work out
specks of the Downtown Advisor Group's recommendations, and
q+WERE.0 in May, 1995, Larry and the other members of the Downtown
Advisor Group presented to the City Council recommendations which will allow in Downtown
the type of changes and activity promoted in Our Vision.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Council
of the City of San Rafael, on behalf of all its citizens, hereby express sincere appreciation and
gratitude to Larry for his considerable contribution of time and effort and continuing
commitment to the future of Downtown.
