TO
George Walton
' WEREAS, in lune, 1993, Our Vision of Downtown San Rafael was
presented to the San Rafael City Councitand
'WWEREAS, the San Rafael City Council determined amendments were needed
to mare the San Rafael General Plan and Zoning Ordinance consistent with the Vision, and
q4NEREAS, George 'Walton has served Downtown as a long-time resident and
as a member of the Board of Trustees of the San Rafael Public Library, and
4NIXEREAS, in August, 1993, George was appointed by the San Rafael City
Council to the Downtown Advisor Group charged with translating Our Vision into General Plan
policies and Zoning Ordinance regulations, and
'IWEREU George has his extensive experience in the area of development
and construction, and
'LWEREAS, George has served on numerous subcommittees to workout
pecocs of the Downtown Advisor Group's recommendations, and
'[N'XERE.AS, in May, 1995, George and the other members of the Downtown
Advisor Group presented to the City Council recommendations which will allow in Downtown
the type of changes and activity promoted in Our Vision.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RE,50LVED that the Mayor and City Council
of the City of San Rafael, on behalf of all its citizens, hereby express sincere appreciation and
gratitude to George for his considerable contribution of time and spirit, and for his continuing
commitment to the future of Downtown.
